Veterans’ Data Theft

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is in the process of sending letters to up to 26.5 million veterans and some spouses who may be impacted by the recent theft of electronic data that included their names, social security numbers and dates of birth. The VA has posted a Notification Letter and Frequently Asked Questions on their website at www1.va.gov/opa A call center has been established at 1-800-FED-INFO (1-800-333-4636). The call center hours are from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. (Eastern Time) Monday - Saturday.
